Shortly after graduating from the University of Oklahoma, Christine moved to Dallas for her first job. Thatcher had made the same move a few months prior and both were slowly settling into adulthood, living only a half mile from one another.

After many months of settling into “the big D” as Christine’s dad calls it, Christine was happy to hear that her friend Cameron and her boyfriend at the time, Austin, were moving to Dallas. Christine began hanging with them and soon found herself a part of a larger friend group which was comprised of many loud boys, one of whom was Thatcher.

For about 2 years, Christine and Thatcher attended the same pregames, concerts, and parties and yet Christine was convinced that Thatcher didn’t even know her name. Pregaming in apartments that are roughly 700 square feet in size (give or take) makes it hard to avoid people, but Thatcher played it cool, never saying more than “hi” to her. In retrospect, it’s clear he had a bigger plan underway.

Fast forward to February of 2019 when Thatcher decided it was finally his time to shine. He began by getting Christine’s phone number and enlisting/encouraging her friends to put in a good word for him. Over the next few months Thatcher laid the groundwork by making small talk, buying Christine drinks at the bar, and more. After some persistence, Christine gave Thatcher a chance and they had their first kiss on May 4th!

Christine and Thatcher would go on to have their first date at E-Bar Tex Mex, meet and vacation with each other’s families, and eventually become the proud parents of their sweet pup, Birdie, who their entire world revolves around.
